Trent L. Todd

Business Manager, Financial Secretary/Treasurer

Trent L. Todd was appointed as Business Manager, Financial Secretary/Treasurer effective September 2022, as Business Representative effective March 10, 2007, and served as Organizer of SMW Local #20 from September 10, 2005 through March 9, 2007.

Trent was born in Bedford , Indiana. He and his wife Erin have two children, Grant and Graycen. Trent is a graduate of Bedford North Lawrence High School, and has attended Vincennes University and Ivy Tech State College.

Scott W. Koning

President

Scott William Koning was elected as Executive Board Member for the Lafayette Area on July 10, 2010, after serving this position as an appointee from July 11, 2009. He was born in Lafayette, Indiana. He is married to wife, Carol, and they have two children, Megan and Justin. Scott graduated from McCutcheon High School.

Scott became a member of Sheet Metal Workers Local 20 in 1986. He served his Apprenticeship from December 1986 to 1990, when he became a Journeyman in December 1990. He has served on the Wage Setting Committee as well as the Picnic Committee.

Matthew R. Pruiett

Vice President / Recording Secretary

Matt was elected Vice President / Recording Secretary in January, 2020.  Matt served an Apprenticeship and became a Journeyman in September 2019.  He is a Union County High School graduate and continued his education at Ivy Tech.
 
As an Apprentice, Matt won 1st place at the Statewide Apprenticeship Contest in the discipline of Architecture.
 
Matt has served on the negotiating committee for the Evansville Area SFUA and is a Labor Day Association Delegate.

 

Matt is certified as a FLS Tech and FLS Supervisor.

 
Along with spending time with his wife and his 6 children, Matt enjoys riding motorcycles, attending car shows and volunteering at Fantasy of Lights.

Vernon M. Stonestreet

Executive Board – Evansville

Vernon served as a Local 20 Trustee from July 2010 to  July 2013 and then again from July 2019 to July 2022.  He was elected as the Evansville Area Executive Board Member in July 2022.

Vernon resides in Evansville with his wife.  They have 4 children.

Vernon attended North High School in Evansville and continued his education at Ivy Tech.  He is a lifetime member of Indiana Hunter Education Association, Whitetails Unlimited National Conservation and NRA. 

In Vernon’s spare time he is a Hunter Education Instructor, enjoys motorcycle rides and hunting. 

Nicholus A. Eckert

Executive Board – Fort Wayne

Nick is a graduate of Northrop High School.  He joined Local 20 as a PreApprentice in April 1998, was accepted into the Apprenticeship in August 1999 and became a Journeyman in November 2005.  Most recently, Nick was elected as Fort Wayne Area Executive Board Member in July 2022.  He also serves as a Fort Wayne Area JAC Trustee.

Nick lives in Fort Wayne with his wife and their two children.

Justin S. Cruse

Executive Board – Indianapolis

Justin began his career with SMART Local Union No. 20 as an Apprentice in 2006.  After serving his Apprenticeship he became a Journeyman in 2011.  He served as conductor from July 2018 to July 2022.  Most recently he was elected as Indianapolis Area Executive Board Member starting his term in July 2022.

Justin graduated from Mt. Vernon High School and went on to earn his Associates in Applied Technology from Ivy Tech.

Justin is an avid hunter and fisherman.  He enjoys spending time with his wife, Natalie and working on projects.

Brian D. Clawson

Executive Board – Lafayette

Brian was elected Executive Board Member for the Lafayette area effective in July 2019, before that he served as Trustee for Local 20 from 2010 – 2019.

Brian was born in Lafayette, Indiana and graduated from Frontier Jr/Sr High School in 2000. He became a member of Sheet metal Workers Local Union No. 20, and completed his 5-year Apprenticeship Program in June of 2005, when he was sworn in as a Journeyman.

William D. Geers

Executive Board – South Bend

Bill was elected Executive Board Member for the South Bend area in July 2019.  He is also a part-time Instructor, a Trustee on the Pension Board and is on the Board of both the LMCC and JATC in the South Bend area.

Bill was born in Las Vegas, Nevada.  He is a graduate of Elkhart Memorial High School and Ivy Tech. He resides with his wife and their two children.

Chad has been a member of Local 20 for over 25 years.  He was most recently elected as a Trustee in July 2022.  He is certified in Fire Smoke Dampers.

 

Chad lives in Kokomo with his wife.  He is also a member of the Vizsla Club of American and enjoys spending time with his furry best friend.

Business Representative, Evansville Area

John M. Wright was elected as Business Representative for the Evansville area effective July 13, 2013. He served as an appointed Organizer for Local 20 out of the Evansville Area from June 20, 2011 until his election to Business Representative. John graduated from Wellington High School and Ivy Tech State College.

John became a member of Sheet Metal Workers in 1999, serving his Apprenticeship from June 2001 through September 2006. He received his Certificate in Health Plan Navigation from the International Foundation.

Eric L. Wagemann

Business Representative, Evansville Area

Eric L. Wagemann was elected as Business Representative of SMART Local Union No. 20 effective May 2017.  He became a member of SMART Local Union No. 20 in 1997, serving his Apprenticeship from June 1999 to June 2004 when he was sworn in as a Journeyman in June 2004.

Eric was born in Evansville and attended Castle High School in Newburgh, Indiana, as well as Ivy Technical Institute – Class of 2004.

Eric served on the Evansville CBA Negotiating Committee in 2018 and George Koch Sons Negotiating Committee in 2019.  Eric is a Trustee on Evansville Labor Temple and is currently the President of SIALF, where he served as the Recording Secretary from 2017 – 2019.

Darryl E. Esterline

Business Representative, Fort Wayne Area

Darryl was elected as Business Representative of the Fort Wayne Area effective July 2013. He became a member of Sheet Metal Workers Local Union No. 20 in 1988, serving his Apprenticeship from September 1990 to 1993.

Darryl was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana and graduated from Northrop High School in 1988. He received an associate degree from Seattle Community College.

Kreg R. Homoky

Business Representative, Gary Area

Kreg was elected as Gary Business Representative for SMART Local Union No. 20 effective September 2017.  He has been a member of Local 20 since July 2002.  Kreg served his Apprenticeship from August 2003 through 2008, when he became a Journeyman in June, 2008. 

Kreg has served on numerous committees including AFL-CIO Executive Board Trustee, NWI Building Trades Executive Board Trustee, City of Hobart Economic Development Board, Lake County Contractors Licensing Board, Lake County Unsafe Building Board, Lake County Precinct 10 Committee Member, Local JAC Trustee, Statewide JATC Trustee, Local Pension Board Trustee and Health & Welfare Trustee.

Kreg attended high school in Hobart, IN and continued his education at Ivy Tech.  Kreg currently resides in Merrillville, IN with his wife and two boys.

Shawn D. Reels

Business Representative, Indianapolis/Lafayette Area

Shawn was elected as Indianapolis / Lafayette Business Representative for SMART Local Union No. 20 effective May 2018.  He has been a member of Local 20 since September 1991.  He served his Apprenticeship from September 1994 through 1999, when he became a Journeyman in September, 1999. 

Shawn serves on the Southwark Safety Committee, is a Trustee on the Lafayette Building Trades, attends the Indianapolis Building Trades, is the Vice President of the Muncie Building Trades and is a Trustee on the Local JAC for Indianapolis area.

Todd M. Duncan

Business Representative, Indianapolis/Lafayette Area

Todd was elected as Indianapolis / Lafayette Business Representative for SMART Local Union No. 20 effective July 2019 and served as President of Local Union No. 20 from July 2013 through June 2019.  He has been a member of Local 20 since November 1980.  Todd served his Apprenticeship from July 1986 thru 1990, when he became a Journeyman in August, 1990.  He has served on numerous contract negotiations steering committees.  He received his 25-year pin, and also received the SMACNA 1995 Excellence Award.

Kevin J. Needham

Business Representative, South Bend Area

Kevin J. Needham was elected as Business Representative South Bend Area effective July 2019 before then he served as Executive Board Member for the South Bend area in July 2007 – July 2019.

Kevin became a member of Sheet Metal Workers Local No. 20 in March, 1994, serving his apprenticeship from August 1995 to July 2000. Kevin became a Journeyman in 2000. He served on the South Bend Contract Negotiations Steering Committee in 2006, as well as the Apprenticeship Board from 2004 to present. Kevin has been the delegate for the Southwest Michigan AFL-CIO since January 2007.

Shaun L. Reinoehl

Business Representative – Terre Haute

Shaun L. Reinoehl, was appointed as Business Representative for the Terre Haute Area effective September 2015 before then he served on the Executive Board for the Terre Haute area. Shaun born in Brazil, Indiana. He is married to Carla, and they have three children. He attended Van Buren High School, and has completed two years of education from Indiana State University.

Shaun served his apprenticeship from August 1991 to 1995. He has also received Union Certificates in TABB Technician and TABB Supervisory Certification.
