Brad was born on June 8, 1958 in Mishawaka, Indiana. He is married to Diana, and they have three children, Shea, Lacy, and Matt.

Brad Chamness was elected as  Business Representative for the South Bend Area in July 2007.  Brad has served on the Executive Board for the past twelve (12) years, has been a member of the South Bend JATC Committee for eight (8) years, and also serves on the Local Pension Fund Committee for the past four (4) years.  He  was appointed as a Delegate to the North Central Indiana AFL-CIO Central Labor Council for twelve (12) years.

Brad served his apprenticeship from 1981 to 1985, and became a Journeyman in 1985.
