Duane was born in 1975 in Rushville, Indiana where he graduated from Rushville Consolidated High School in 1994.  He continues to attend the International Training  Institute for Instructor Training Programs since 2005, and is currently a Local 20 instructor for evening Service classes in the Indianapolis area.  

Duane received a diploma for HVACR from ITT Technical Institute in 1995.  He attended Ivy Tech Community College where he studied apprenticeship and general studies.  He also plans to attend the National Labor College at the George Meany Center, where he plans to study B.A. Labor Studies. 

Duane became a member of Sheet Metal Workers Local No. 20 in 1999, serving his Apprenticeship from April 2000 to 2002.  He was on the Negotiations Steering Committee in 2005. 

Duane is married to Lisa, and they have two children, Raegan and Jake.  He enjoys spending time with his family, hunting and fishing.  He also enjoys serving the membership of Local 20 through volunteering at various events.
