Dave served his apprenticeship from September 1974 to June 1978, at which time he became a Journeyman. He attended Apprentice Instructor Training Classes at Ohio State University. He has served on the following boards and committees; Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee from 1987 to 2006, Organizer's Committee from 1992 to 2007, Political Action Committee from 1995-2007, attended Organizer's Orientation in Indianapolis in 2001 and several years on the Gary Area Picnic Committee. He was appointed as a Convention Delegate of the Indiana Building Trades in 2005. Dave has received a National Training Fund/Ohio State APD Instructor Certificate. 

         Dave served 8 years on the Griffith Adult Booster Club as secretary, vice president and president. He is currently the town of Griffith's Mechanical Inspector.  He enjoys gardening, fishing and competition pistol shooting.  He likes spending time with his grandchildren and his four-legged friends, Cinder, Buddy, Toby and Fin.
