She was born on June 28, 1963, and graduated from Lawrence Central High School.  She became a member of Sheet Metal Workers in 1998, and has been a Union Steward from 1999 to present.  In addition, Shannon served on the Negotiations Committee, Safety Committee and Resolution Committee.
